Procurement Executive
Manages and takes overall responsibility for specific supplier relationships, with varying degrees of complexity and services offered. Alternatively, has a specific area of expertise in multiple sourcing arrangement, or acts as an expert in a specific geography or product area. Will be the point of contact for the business and suppliers ensuring any issues are managed appropriately and supports implementation of new sourcing arrangements.
Typical Accountabilities
- Manages or provides technical support to multiple procurement arrangements on a day-to-day basis ensuring adequate support and training on procurement processes.
- Oversees long-term resource planning for the function through responsibility of specific supplier relationships, researching and assisting in selecting potential sources of material.
- Acts as a technical owner of a specific area within the Procurement Function with a deep understanding of processes and cost analysis
- Either leads the planning, managing, and monitoring of procurement relationships and projects from concepts to implementation, or provides expert technical support to project manager.
- Manages commercial review of procurement, oversees costs for several functions and provides input to cost improvement planning as appropriate.
- Keeps own knowledge of best practices and new developments up to date.
- Leads trouble shooting activities to resolve existing problems, make complicated judgements and anticipate future developments in AstraZeneca’s Procurement related needs.
- Responsible for managing supplier relationships and expectations across a broad range of products or services in order to provide a high quality, timely and cost-effective service.
- Ensures optimal spend across relationships under management through support with cost management.
- Employs prepared information to discuss, plan and re-evaluate supplier relationships.
- Develops contacts across a range of departments and/or external suppliers acting as a representative for functions.
- Ensures adherence to Health, Safety and Environment of own work and work of other employees.
- Supports on-going change management and continuous improvement and development for functions.
- Ensures adequate supervision, instruction and training is provided to all members of team.
Education, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- Degree level or equivalent
- Experience of procurement
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Proved ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated success working in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- Project and people management
Desirable
- Line management experience.
