Alexion Astrazeneca’s Rare Disease Global Value Access and Pricing (GVAP) team is seeking a qualified individual to be part of a dynamic and growing team with responsibility for pricing implementation.

The purpose of this role is to drive competitive advantage and performance of Alexion Astrazeneca’s Rare Disease brands by optimizing price and support reimbursement decisions at a local and global level

The Pricing Implementation Lead will work in close collaboration with the GVAP lead Director.

You will be responsible for

GLOBAL PRICING & REIMBURSEMENT IMPLEMENTATION LEAD, NEUROLOGY

  • Manage the operational pricing and reimbursement implementation for Neurology indications

  • Ensure an appropriate pricing policy and governance processes are followed to ensure pricing strategies are implemented and monitor compliance to frameworks

  • Engage with markets pro-actively to support the optimal implementation of pricing policies for Neurology indications and provide support in local pricing capability development

  • Provide forward looking analysis and insights into the future of price assumptions for relevant brands through gross price modelling analysis.

  • Provide country specific input to Global pricing policies for new product launches of relevant brands 

  • Lead and support execution of pricing strategies in collaboration with GVAP Complement team and regional teams 

  • Support the development of launch sequence, target prices and negotiation strategies to optimize pricing and reimbursement conditions in the local markets and across the region

  • Review and challenge business cases submitted by markets. Perform cross-country impact analysis of proposed price changes and manage risk by identifying mitigating strategies

  • Support local access leads in addressing pricing negotiation challenges

  • Prepare recommendations on pricing business cases. Pre-empt analysis on major business cases (pan-regional or across portfolio). Assess risk and opportunities of future developments in the Pricing and Market Access environment

  • Monitor realized impact of the endorsed pricing actions to modify future decision making

You will need to have:

  • Relevant Graduate degree eg.  PhD PharmD, biomedical science, business, or economics.

  • Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry in business related roles

  • 3-5 years of pricing and reimbursement experience

  • Understanding of pricing, legal, regulatory and reimbursement issues across key markets and their impact

  • Ability to handle complex problem solving (involving many decision-makers and multiple, creative solutions)

  • Ability to communicate complex access and pricing challenges simply and clearly across business stakeholders

  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environmentAs is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours. 

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Experience in a pricing / market access function locally or regionally

  • Understanding of pricing and reimbursement processes in major markets

  • Strong analytical skills 

  • Attention to details

  • Negotiating experience with payers

  • Excellence and precision in communication: credible and persuasive
