The Alexion IT organization is seeking an IT Medical Business Partner to join their dynamic team. This strategic partner role is essential for the Global Medical Organization, focusing on building technology solution roadmaps and aligning them with business priorities. You will be responsible for understanding the business strategy, managing business demand, and ensuring the effective delivery of solutions in close collaboration with IT delivery teams. You will coordinate and lead the business process design and implementation of technology solutions, sharing knowledge of technology opportunities and risks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Medical Systems. This role requires a self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills who can become a trusted partner to the Medical organization.

Accountabilities

• In partnership with Medical Operations and cross-functional stakeholders, evolve the Medical IT Roadmap and portfolio to deliver future state business capabilities.
• Collaborate with the Digital Innovation and Data Generation teams on new technology and initiatives to transform the Medical Affairs business.
• Drive and project manage technology demand in accordance with business priorities, funding, and resource allocations.
• Develop and release ongoing system enhancements in partnership with Medical Operations.
• Maintain the service backlog, plan iterations, define user stories, and participate in team demos and sprint retrospectives with various Medical Product Owners.
• Provide timely and effective communication to internal stakeholders regarding Medical systems and key functionality.
• Translate business requirements into functional/technical requirements.
• Lead the business process design and implementation of technology solutions with IT Enterprise Application team, Digital team & Service Delivery Team.
• Spearhead projects to identify process improvements for business processes.
• Create and implement processes to ensure seamless ongoing support for Medical solutions at all levels.
• Document business processes in collaboration with the business.
• Create required SDLC documentation like Business Case, User Requirements specification, UAT plan, etc.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Exceptional verbal and written communication and creative problem-solving skills including the ability to translate business requirements into actionable plans
• Work independently and drive initiatives to conclusion
• Highly motivated self-starter with the confidence and ability to present complex information concisely and effectively to all audiences and groups  
• Ability to anticipate future business trends and to integrate that context into business practices
• Experience leading technical teams and individuals across geographies 
• Track record of effective functional and cross-functional collaboration and leadership
• Detail-oriented, self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team environment
• Minimum 5 – 7 years of IT experience in functional areas and exposure to business operations deploying large scale solutions internationally
• Project management and/or IT Business Analyst experience required; development and support of projects and solutions
• Strong experience in Veeva CRM, Veeva Promomats/MedComms
• IT Medical Affairs experience in, but not limited to, IRMS, Publications, Reporting a plus
• Understanding of digital and analytics technologies (e.g. Qlik Sense); hands on experience a plus
• Experience working in a multi-disciplined, multi-functional matrix organization
• Experience working in Biotech or Pharmaceutical industry 
• Understanding of SDLC guidelines and supporting validated systems
• Understanding of corporate compliance and government regulations
• Experience with the Envision Pharma Group suite of products a plus https://www.envisionpharmagroup.com

Desirable Skills/Experience

• 5 – 7 years of Business Analysis experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, or other quantitative discipline 
• MBA or advanced quantitative discipline degree preferred
• Prior experience in Biopharmaceuticals and rare disease
