The Director Digital Experience, Strategy and Design plays a pivotal role in devising and implementing a comprehensive Digital Experience leveraging for digital solutions and assets. These initiatives are designed to facilitate seamless and effortless engagement for Patients, Health Care Professionals, and colleagues across the company's product and service ecosystem. This is achieved by ensuring alignment with the product roadmaps, catering to user needs, market demands, and technical frameworks to execute a portfolio of solutions from ideation to steady state.

This is what you will do:

In this role, you will champion the Digital Experience strategy to distinguish and introduce innovative digital User Experiences aimed at making healthcare more accessible, integrated, transparent, and reliable. This will be accomplished through collaboration with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders. You are tasked with identifying and establishing the Digital Design strategy, conceptualizing complex UX ecosystems, and motivating teams to explore the limits of what is achievable.

The team’s responsibilities encompass research, design (visual and UX), prototyping, and strategy, all critical in reducing the complexity and barriers to care. The team is also responsible for Websites and other digital engagement platforms.

  • Alexion Business & IT (regional & global)
  • Alexion Business Operations Commercial Excellence Teams
  • Alexion Marketing & Omnichannel Teams
  • Regional and Country Heads (US, Europe and Canada, , International, Japan) & Shared Markets with Astra Zeneca
  • AstraZeneca Information Technology

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital experience and design strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and enhances engagement across all digital channels.
  • Earn the trust and respect of key stakeholders by demonstrating deep subject matter expertise and leading by example to establish an efficient, predictable, and consistent methodology for end-to-end digital product delivery.
  • Manage and mentor a team of digital professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of digital products and services (Web, mobile, AR/VR etc.), ensuring a cohesive and innovative user experience that meets the needs of diverse community of users.
  • Collaborate with IT, marketing, regulatory, and other departments to integrate digital solutions into the company's overall operational and commercial strategies.
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of emerging technologies to play a proactive role in proposing strategic tools and approaches that enable better digital experiences for patients and HCPs.
  • Define and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital experience initiatives to assess their impact on customer engagement and business outcomes.
  • Stay abreast of digital trends, user experience design best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve our digital offerings.
  • Ensure digital initiatives comply with regulatory standards and are adaptable to multicultural environments.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Digital Marketing, Information Technology, Business, etc.).
  • 12+ years of proven experience in a senior-level digital role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • 4+ years of proven experience in a director level role within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry having at least 2 direct reports.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing digital strategies that drive engagement to achieve business goals.
  • Consistent track record of implementing, running, and delivering successful digital projects.
  • Adaptability to a multicultural environment, valuing diversity within a virtual distributed team environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience leading and delivering digital engagement capabilities and platforms.
  • Experience leading agile teams.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
  • Experience with design thinking, prototyping, user testing & System Usability Scales.
  • Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Sketch, and Adobe XD.
  • Understanding of regulatory considerations related to digital marketing in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Passion for process improvement and solution identification
