Director, Patient Services Innovation Strategy & Project Governance

This is what you will do:

The Director, Patient Services (PS) Innovation Strategy & Project Governance is a critical new role in the Patient Services team and is responsible for the overall Innovation Strategy leading key digital and AI initiatives for the Patient Support Programs and Services for patients on Alexion therapies.  Additionally, the Director will be responsible for leading the Project Governance for the PS team. The Director will lead a team and  set strategic direction for the two functions, partnering with internal and external stakeholders on project prioritization, and and business requirements.

You will be responsible for:

Innovation Strategy:

  • Lead and provide directions to the PS teams on new and existing innovative digital and AI solutions

  • In partnership with various stakeholders, the director will own and lead PS AI roadmap.

  • Identify opportunities where AI can enhance patient services and improve outcomes.

  • Focus on integrating AI solutions into existing iPatient and Operational processes.

  • Work to continuously improve AI systems for greater efficiency and patient and OneSource team satisfaction.

  • Lead the next iteration of PS Capabilities assessment and create and execution plan by prioritizing the initiatives

Project Management Office:

  • Define strategic alignment, scope and prioritization process for PS Projects

  • Oversee the Project Management and Governance process

  • Investment and Budget  oversight for PS

  • Lead Mid Term Planning (3 year budgeting) Process in partnership with Patient Services Leadership Team and other stakeholders

  • Accountable for overall PS Budget Management

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences or other relevant field

  • 8-10+ years of Patient Services experience, ideally with an emphasis on leading the Innovation strategies and project governance

  • people management experience

  • Proven ability working successfully in a fast-paced cross functional environment with many stakeholders that have competing interests

  • Comfort working through uncertainty while managing multiple, competing, and frequently shifting priorities

  • Working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance rules within the biotech/pharmaceutical industry

  • Ability to work with external vendors during the SOW, PO, and project budget accrual processes

  • Strong fluency in English (written and spoken language)

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and ability to create and edit documents using Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word

  • Ability to present to internal and external stakeholders of 2 to 100+ people

  • Ability to travel 30%+ of time

  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.  As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

  • Experience working in  the rare disease field of a patient services organization

  • Strong passion for digital advancement and an innovative mindset

  • Working knowledge of salesforce.com, AI technologies and other best-in-class technology solutions

Annual base salary for this position ranges from $180,875.20 to $230,000.00 AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
