Director, U.S. Payer Marketing & Access Strategy

This is what you will do:

The Director, U.S. Payer Marketing, is responsible for leading the development and execution of U.S. pricing, access, reimbursement, and distribution strategies for assigned business priorities. This leader will be responsible for the evolution of the value proposition and access strategy to U.S. payer and channel customers in a rapidly changing environment.

This role reports to the Head of US Payer & Channel Marketing.

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and evolve U.S. payer and channel pricing, reimbursement, and distribution strategies for assigned products
  • Identifying key payer and policymaker trends and informing organization of strategic, financial, and operational implications
  • Develop and implement the payer and channel tactical plan including all value proposition tools and resources
  • Ensuring access insights & strategies are incorporated into broader commercial strategies
  • Support the development of performance metrics and reports used to measure the effectiveness of brand access strategies
  • Lead the evolution of the value proposition including market research and development of tools and resources that effectively communicate the value of assigned products to payer and channel customers
  • Support the development of HEOR/real-world evidence plans that will enhance the value proposition to payer and channel customers
  • Lead the training of Account Management and Field Reimbursement colleagues
  • Lead the cross-functional matrix team (Account Management, Field Reimbursement Management, Brand Marketing, Sales, Key Account Management, HEOR, etc.) responsible for the execution of the U.S. access strategy
  • Lead the U.S. market access annual operating plan for assigned brands including project budgeting
  • Represent the U.S. market access team on key governance committees for assigned products
  • Manage vendor relationships and annual budgets

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years’ experience in U.S. managed care
  • Knowledge of the business models, influence/impact, and decision drivers of U.S. commercial and government payers as well as channel customers (e.g. specialty pharmacy and distribution, home infusion, etc.)
  • Understanding of access & reimbursement methodologies utilized by commercial and government payers under the medical and pharmacy benefits
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team of colleagues without a direct reporting relationship
  • Demonstrated a capacity for developing and leading the implementation of U.S. market access strategies for specialty medicines covered under the medical benefit
  • Ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex strategic initiatives
  • Knowledge of the business models, influence/impact, and decision drivers of U.S. commercial and government payers as well as channel customers (i.e. specialty pharmacy and distribution, home infusion, etc.)
  • Understanding of reimbursement methodologies utilized by commercial and government payers under the medical and pharmacy benefits
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team of colleagues without a direct reporting relationship
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex business challenges and data-driven recommendations to senior leaders
  • Clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge and aptitude in complex disease states
  • Experience reviewing marketing materials with medical, legal, and regulatory review committees
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.
