Senior Manager, R&D Resource Management

The Sr. Manager, R&D Resource Management, is a pivotal role at the intersection of several functions. The successful candidate will support the resource capacity planning process, an essential component for the Long-Range Plan, R&D prioritization, and Annual Operating Process. You will develop and improve resourcing algorithms, ensuring they accurately represent resource demand for the R&D portfolio. Additionally, you will deploy an Integrated R&D Portfolio Operations Model and support the team with the design, development, and implementation of data analytics-driven reports.

Accountabilities

  • Support the creation, documentation, and maintenance of algorithms to translate project schedules into resource demand over time.
  • Generate resource forecasts and partner with program managers to validate ahead of key governance and business cycle reviews.
  • Support efforts to improve the resource planning process and related systems.
  • Generate reports to effectively enhance decision-making on resources.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with hands-on, comprehensive knowledge about resource capacity management.
  • Proficiency in Excel with experience using Planisware.
  • Strong analytical skills with proven ability to perform complex data analyses to support resourcing decisions.
  • Past exposure and understanding of modeling and forecasting of portfolio execution and corresponding resource demand.
  • Proven ability to develop strong partnerships to successfully operate in a highly matrix-based organization while balancing the needs of multiple collaborators.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced analytical tools/models and decision support platforms, i.e., PowerBI.
  • Solution-based, creative problem solver with strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Detail-oriented and independently motivated.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • MBA/M.S./M.A., or equivalent level of experience
