Senior Manager, U.S. Access Marketing

This is what you will do:

The Senior Manager of U.S Access Marketing is responsible for collaborating in the development and execution of market access strategy for Alexion’s U.S. portfolio. This role involves creating and refining access-related, customer-facing marketing materials to support the access strategy in collaboration with HEOR, clinical, and account teams, across customers (payers, providers, channel/trade partners, specialty pharmacies (SPs)). Additional responsibilities include conducting market research, collecting customer feedback from account teams, and designing targeted marketing materials to address customer concerns and optimize access. This role is based in Alexion’s Boston headquarters and reports to the Executive Director, US Access Strategy & Marketing.

You will be responsible for:

  • Creating access-related, customer-facing marketing tools and materials to support the access strategy, primarily for Market Access (MA) teams, and to a lesser extent, the broader Alexion organization, in collaboration with the Account Management team
  • Maintaining and updating Alexion access websites and tools, ensuring healthcare professionals and payers have up to date and accurate information on Alexion products pricing and reimbursement
  • Collaborating with HEOR, brand, clinical, and account teams to shape value messages and develop pre-approval information exchange (PIE) materials and payer value tools
  • Conducting market research and message testing to ensure the effectiveness of marketing materials
  • Owning the relationship and management of budget and deliverables with agency and partners including facilitation of promotional resources through review committees
  • Gathering feedback from account teams to align marketing materials with customer concerns and strategic priorities
  • Developing marketing materials for channel accounts, tailored to address customers' specific concerns and minimize disruption in access while conserving gross-to-net (GTN)
  • Assisting in the development of market access strategies for Alexion’s portfolio

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant area of study
  • 1+ years U.S. or global managed care or brand marketing experience
  • Ability to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex strategic initiatives
  • Ability to understand the business models, influence/impact, and decision drivers of U.S. commercial and government payers as well as channel customers (i.e., specialty pharmacy and distribution, home infusion, etc.)
  • Working understanding of reimbursement methodologies utilized by commercial and government payers under the medical and pharmacy benefits
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex business challenges and data-driven recommendations to senior leaders
  • Up to 10% travel as required
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.  As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:

  • MBA, MPH, PharmD or other advanced degree
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical marketing role
  • Experience developing U.S. access marketing materials
  • Experience reviewing marketing materials with medical, legal, and regulatory review committees
  • Rare disease medicines experience
