Accountabilities
• Support the Head of Audit (AstraZeneca Enabling Functions and Alexion) in fulfilling GIA’s remit with a focus on the AZ Enabling Functions and the Alexion Rare Disease Unit.
• Periodically revisit the audit plan in the context of a fast-evolving business, risk landscape, and assurance needs.
• Maintain an understanding of the business risk landscape, especially as it pertains to your assigned portfolio.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams on a multi-functional portfolio of audits, risk reviews, and advisory services.
• Oversee audits to ensure timely planning, execution, and delivery of services. Solicit feedback on performance after each audit.
• Provide meaningful insight to the business through audit delivery and informal engagement with key stakeholders.
• Shape & normalize use of AI & data, process mining, and intelligent dashboard strategy for high-velocity recommendations.
• Foster a strong sense of team within GIA.
• Advance a culture of lifelong learning and champion inclusion and diversity in GIA.
• Challenge conventional thinking on risk, audit selection, and scope to maximize value.
• Ensure work is in conformance with professional standards and internal ways of working.
Essential Skills/Experience
• Relevant degree or postgraduate professional qualification.
• Previous experience auditing and/or advising on governance, risk, and controls.
• Ability to act autonomously, effectively prioritizing and managing a portfolio of audits and associated activities.
• Experience leading complex and challenging audits and individual assignments.
• Confidence to challenge conventional thinking on risk identification, audit selection, and scope to maximize value.
• Ability to coordinate and monitor broader audit programs.
• Strong project management skills, including managing multiple priorities concurrently.
• Experience managing and motivating multidisciplinary teams across global locations.
• Ability to undertake travel internationally (up to 25% of working days).
Desirable Skills/Experience
• Master’s degree
• Experience within the Pharma or Biotech sectors.
