Alexion AstraZeneca RDU is a high-growth biopharmaceutical company with operations in over 40 countries worldwide. The company is expanding in both size and geographical reach. Our Global Finance Services (GFS) team in Dublin plays a critical role in delivering monthly and quarterly reporting, while also handling the statutory audit requirements for European and International entities.

This Finance & Accounting Graduate role will provide you with a unique opportunity to gain experience across 3 teams within Finance: Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Record to Report Controlling (RTR) and Statutory Reporting, gaining exposure to global revenue processes, controls, accruals, statutory reporting, audit requirements, and finance transformation projects. You will work in a fast-paced and global environment, collaborating with both operations and finance professionals to develop your skills and contribute to impactful projects.

You will be responsible for:

As a Finance Graduate, you will be a key member of the Alexion AstraZeneca RDU GFS team and will support the following activities:

EMEA FP&A

  • Perform month-end and quarterly FP&A activities, ensuring timely communication of financial results.

  • Support local finance teams during yearly forecasting and budgeting cycles.

  • Collaborate with business partners to provide analytical support and insights.

  • Conduct detailed Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews and provide accurate, timely, and relevant financial performance reporting.

  • Handle master data, hierarchies, and reconciliation of SAP and non-SAP data to ensure quality reporting.

  • Optimize and standardize reporting catalogues and packs.

Record to Report Controlling

  • Perform record to report month end and quarter end procedures for specified EMEA entities including revenue accounting and operating expense journal entry reviews.

  • Liaise with outsourced provider to ensure accurate and complete performance of month end and quarter end tasks while adhering to global deadlines.

  • Ensure accounting compliance with SOX controls, US GAAP, IFRS and local GAAP accounting principles.

  • Review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and follow up and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.

Statutory Reporting

  • Support the maintenance and updating of statutory accounts preparation achievement plans, communicating metrics to partners.

  • Assist in the preparation of statutory financial documents and reconciliations between US GAAP and local GAAP.

  • Resolve queries from external service providers, auditors, tax advisors, and internal partners.

  • Liaise with legal partners to ensure local filing requirements and deadlines are met, and relevant approval documentation is prepared.

  • Aid the internal tax and transfer pricing teams with compliance requirements as needed.

  • Contribute to analysis required for dividend distributions.

You will need to have:

  • Bachelors / Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field

  • Actively pursuing a qualification as an Accountant through a recognized accountancy institution.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong numeracy and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • A proven track record of academic excellence.

  • Ability to engage in problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration in an office-based environment.
