Alexion, AstraZeneca's rare disease unit, is dedicated to reaching more patients globally with its innovative drug portfolio. To align with Alexion's strategic ambitions, the Business Excellence Manager will play a crucial role in transforming capabilities, optimizing processes, and cultivating a culture of performance improvement. This leader will spearhead strategic projects that drive operational excellence, digital innovation, and end-to-end (E2E) process transformation, ensuring scalability and resilience for future challenges.
They will develop and implement global standards for operational processes while coaching and building capabilities across cross-functional teams to promote continuous improvement and lean leadership. As a change agent, they will integrate digital tools and strategies to streamline workflows and foster innovation, aligning initiatives with organizational goals and enhancing AO's productivity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in leading project management and strategic process improvements, with an emphasis on developing a robust culture of operational excellence and efficiency.

You will be responsible for:
Technical Pillar:
Support Delivery Supply Efficiency Strategy:
Lead initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency, implementing strategies to optimise resource allocation and minimize waste.
Continuous Improvement:
Drive a culture of continuous improvement by implementing Lean methodologies and ensuring teams are equipped with the tools and knowledge for ongoing enhancements.
Standardized Work and Problem Solving:
Orchestrate and adaptstandardised work processes, ensuring consistency and quality across operations. Facilitate problem-solving workshops to foster innovation and efficiency.
Value Stream Management:
Conduct value stream mapping to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Implement improvements that enhance workflow and product delivery.
Design for Six Sigma and Certification:
Support the deployment of Design for Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to ensure high standards of product and process excellence.
Metrics & Performance Management:
Develop and implement metrics that accurately measure performance. Use data-driven insights to guide strategic decisions andimprovements.
Digital Tier Management:
Oversee digital transformation projects, integrating advanced digital solutions to streamline processes and improve decision-making capabilities.

Support the implementation of global strategies and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
Meeting Excellence Program:
Lead efforts to enhance the effectiveness and productivity of meetings, fostering a culture of excellence in communication and collaboration.
Maturity Assessment Management:
Conduct maturity assessments to evaluate organizational capabilities. Develop action plans to address gaps and drive continuous improvement.
Strategic Improvement Activities:
Lead and support initiatives aimed at improving organizational performance, fostering a high-performance culture through training, coaching, and stakeholder engagement.
Business Governance Processes:
Develop and refine business governance processes to enhance operational efficiency and performance management.
Mentoring and Coaching:
Provide guidance and support to Program Sponsors, Managers, and Lead End Users, enhancing their ability to execute strategies effectively.
People Pillar:
People and Culture Strategy:
Facilitate the execution of strategies aimed at enhancing workplace culture and employee engagement, ensuring alignment with corporate values.
AstraZeneca alignment
Align with the AZ COE and adapt standards for the use across AO building strong relationships with key stakeholders
Project Recognition and Engagement:
Support initiatives that recognize and reward exceptional project outcomes and contributions, boosting employee morale and engagement.
Learning and Development:
Lead programs that learning, ensuring employees have the skills and knowledge required to excel.
Onboarding:
Oversee comprehensive onboarding programs that effectively integrate new hires into the organization's culture and operations.
You will need to have:
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business, or a related field is required.
A Master’s degree or equivalent experience.
Certification:
Desirable certifications include Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), PMP, Change Management, or Strategic Management, demonstrating a commitment to operational excellence.
Power BI
Experience:
3 years of experience in delivering strategy and business excellence systems, or a similar role within a complex, matrixed organization (preferably in a GxP environment).
Skills:
Proven decision-making ability and strong communication skills. Capable of influencing cross-functionally and working collaboratively across diverse teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating a results-oriented mindset.
