Senior Director, Supply Chain Services. Dublin or Cork

The Head of Supply Chain Services will orchestrate initiatives across brand and geographic expansion, global artwork, product traceability & security, Supply chain GXP compliance, and inventory compliance domains. This role is critical in encouraging an outstanding patient experience as part of the Global Supply Chain & Strategy team. The incumbent will lead efforts to establish master data governance and improve supply chain analytics capabilities, driving operational excellence through speed, agility, and innovation.
Accountabilities
• Supply chain analytics COE: Structure the team to architect and implement a comprehensive business intelligence strategy to support the organization’s goals, ensuring that data-driven insights and informed decision making.
• Master Data: Oversee governance, stewardship, and maintenance of crucial data elements, particularly in planning and manufacturing, ensuring alignment with SAP and OMP standards.
• Launch Execution: Ensure successful launch of commercial brands into new geographies.
• Artwork Management: Coordinate the artwork management team, implementation of new artwork supporting launches and changes whilst ensuring compliance.
• End to End Labelling governance: Partner with senior stakeholders from regulatory and quality functions to monitor and optimize the labelling process to ensure uninterrupted supply of compliant product to patients.
• Serialization & Traceability: Ensure via the serialization program that Alexion business processes are in place to deliver on market/regional compliance to falsified medicines directives and that Alexion brands conform to AstraZeneca standards through harmonization of security features.
• Supply Chain Product Security: Adopt & deploy the AstraZeneca Supply chain Product Security framework (governance, risk management & assurance) within Alexion operations.
• Business continuity planning and Quality risk management: Oversee the development of Business continuity plans & product lifecycle risks for Global Supply Chain & Strategy to build a resilient and audit-ready supply chain.
• GSC&S function achieve the targets from a Compliance perspective, from GxP, Training & SOP’s. Ensure that inventory compliance team practices are fully SOX compliant.
• Build a High Performing Organization by ensuring the development, availability of talent and succession plans.
• Maintain a Culture of integrity and inclusion within the team ensuring team members feel valued for their diversity and contribution to Alexion.
Essential Skills/Experience
• Min. 10 yrs experience of leadership roles within pharmaceutical supply chain, preferably encompassing the areas of NPI, Artwork, Serialization, Master data & Inventory compliance
• Experience in re-engineering supply chain processes and project management.
• Consistent record of lean practices implementation.
• Knowledge of cGMP and GDP applications.
• Experience in cross-functional NPI and launch processes.
• Understanding and experience in master data management and governance.
• Ability to lead high-performing teams in global supply chain roles.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, especially with VP-level executives.
Desirable Skills/Experience
• A qualification in Supply Chain at APICS/ Master’s degree level.
