Value Access and Pricing Manager
The Value Access and Pricing Manager leads the organisation, development, and delivery of high-quality recommendations and strategies regarding P&R submissions for Italy. Working under the direction of the Market Access Director, the Value Access and Pricing Manager contributes actively to the development of overall value and pricing strategy for the country, and to the preparation of dossiers and materials aimed at achieving pricing and reimbursement at the national level as well as optimal positioning at regional and hospital levels.
This role will also support the Regional Team by sharing the national strategy, leading the creation of key value material and regional reimbursement dossiers, and facilitating the internal communication of value and pricing messages. This position requires a high degree of cross-functional collaboration, working with regulatory, medical, government affairs, and commercial colleagues, local and regional market access staff, and external consultants in the preparation of reimbursement submissions.
Accountabilities
You will be responsible for:
- Moderating internal discussions to adapt and align the local value message to the global market access strategy
- Leading the writing and finalisation of national reimbursement dossiers
- Conducting the technical local adaptation of budget impact models and cost-effectiveness analyses
- Carefully preparing communication materials on value, access, and price topics for various stakeholders involved in the access and reimbursement process
- Closely monitoring the access status – national, regional, and local – of Alexion’s pipeline products
- Collecting field input and customer insights through the Regional Market Access Managers for evidence generation plans
- Providing assistance with the communication of health economic evidence to key audiences either directly or in support of local teams
- Prioritizing tasks, organizing, and managing multiple projects while maintaining an understanding of national, regional, and hospital perspectives and objectives
- Working with regulatory, compliance, and legal teams to ensure all requirements are met
- Collaborating with marketing and medical affairs teams to contribute to product launch strategies through the identification and development of reimbursement tools
- Managing project input by external consultants
- Participating in internal international events to convey the local Italian perspective on price & reimbursement policies and strategies
Essential Skills/Experience
- Previous work experience in access within the pharmaceutical/biotech/medical device industry and/or health economics consulting firms
- Strong experience in Healthcare Market Access and Pricing
- Confident understanding and experience with pharmacoeconomic analysis, pricing, and HTA
- Excellent written and verbal Italian communication skills
- Good level of business English
- Ability to identify and understand relevant issues in healthcare policy, market access, pharmacoeconomics, and health management in Italy as they may impact Alexion’s reimbursement activities
- An open mind about new ways to approach P&R issues, particularly for a company like Alexion with a focus on rare and ultra-rare diseases
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Successful completion of relevant tertiary qualifications, e.g., a degree in Pharmacy, Science, Health Economics, or similar (Life Sciences)
- A BA or BS is required; a graduate degree (MS, MPH, MPP, MBA, JD) is preferred but not required
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience
