Position Summary:

The Director of Integration for the Development, Regulatory, and Safety (DRS) department will be instrumental in guiding future acquisitions and facilitating smooth integrations. This role is passionate about ensuring detailed cost assessments and seamless collaboration with functional leaders within DRS. Key responsibilities include partnering with various Alexion functions such as Clinical Development, Development Operations, Regulatory, Quantitative Sciences, HR, and Finance. The Director will streamline assessment processes during due diligence and provide regular updates to the DLT Leadership team.

Job Function & Principal Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional integration teams across Alexion DRS, working closely with Business Development.
  • Act as the primary liaison for integration opportunities alongside the Global Integration Team.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of potential acquisitions, building on due diligence findings.
  • Develop detailed integration plans covering pre-Day 1, post-Day 1, and breakthrough phases like 30, 60, and 90 days, in collaboration with DRS functions.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requisites related to acquisitions and integrations.
  • Identify and strategize key integration areas aligned with Alexion DRS's objectives.
  • Formulate an integration team with representatives from all functions to coordinate the integration process.
  • Implement monitoring systems to track progress and collect feedback from partners.
  • Improve integration processes to ensure efficient incorporation of new acquisitions.
  • Communicate current integration opportunities, risks, and updates to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with Global Strategic Sourcing, and Alliance Management for vendor assessments and potential onboarding.
  • Document processes and standard methodologies, providing vital training to teams.
  • Work closely with Global Strategic Alignment for a cohesive integration process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a scientific discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years in integration and clinical operations.
  • Extensive R&D experience within Biotech/Pharma/CRO environments.
  • Ability to create collaborative and inclusive environments for cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in navigating complex and evolving business landscapes.
  • Proficient in bridging scientific, technical, and business functions.
  • Proven track record of achieving team objectives.
  • Knowledge of clinical operations strategy and execution is desirable.
  • Strong experience in alliance and contract management.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Expertise in business process management.
  • Skills in strategic planning and risk management.
  • Ability to influence senior-level decisions.
