The Manager, US Sales Incentive Compensation and Sales Operations will play a critical role in the success of Alexion’s Incentive Compensation and Sales Operations strategies and the Business Operations and Commercial Effectiveness organization. The role will report into the Sr. Director, US Sales Incentive Compensation, with a dotted line to the Director, US Sales Operations and Business Insights, and will partner closely with other members of the Incentive Compensation and Sales Operations teams. The Manager will be essential in enabling high-quality analytics, evidence-based decision support, development of dashboards and tools and supporting operational needs. The role will work across functions to answer national and regional business questions and support the field sales and marketing teams in analyzing their performance within the context of both Incentive Compensation and Sales Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the design and administration of field-based Incentive Compensation programs for the Alexion US Sales organization that recognize and reward employee performance and drive business results.
  • Collaborates with collaborators and technology partners to define system business specifications, automate performance reporting and incentive calculations, and implement quality control measures to ensure a high level of data and reporting accuracy.
  • Supports the ongoing monitoring and analysis of incentive plans and manages field inquiries related to incentive compensation.
  • Contributes to the complex research and analysis of rewards and incentive compensation programs in support of business objectives.
  • Supports existing programs, generating insights, and collaborating with internal teams.
  • Ensures compliance with Alexion processes touching incentive compensation and Sales Operations.
  • Designs, leads, and executes qualitative and quantitative analysis projects to address key business questions related to commercial products along with operational and incentive compensation data. 
  • Responds to ad hoc requests for insights. Delivers material succinctly and effectively to meet communication needs. Provides accurate data and relevant context to internal and external collaborators.
  • Supports strategy and execution of data quality, Master Data Management, and data strategy initiatives
  • Supports CRM strategy and operational needs for Sales and Marketing teams
  • Supports relevant product launch initiatives
  • Supports process improvement and operational efforts that allow Sales Ops leads to focus on actionable regional insights. These insights drive efficient execution of sales strategy, incorporating automation and generative AI when possible.  
  • Manages competing priorities by setting clear expectations with collaborators, maintaining clear and regular communications, working with Commercial Operations teammates and allocating time effectively between multiple priorities.
  • Executes all work in an appropriate and compliant manner consistent with the values of the organization, working with internal teams to define and revise procedures and policies as needed.
  • Develops strong partnerships with cross-functional teams - Marketing, Sales, Commercial Operations, and others.
  • Ensures relevant team members are engaged at key stages of projects to ensure that critical business questions are adequately addressed.

Essential Education, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Math, or related major is preferred).
  • At least 4 years of experience in incentive compensation design and analytics along with sales performance analytics and reporting - ideally within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Demonstrated understanding of various incentive compensation plans, including but not limited to commission, goal, and MBO plan designs.
  • Analytics skills inclusive of advanced Microsoft Excel and Copilot capabilities.
  • Experience implementing automation and using AI to generate actionable insights 
  • Experience in user centric dashboard design / development 
  • Ability to translate business need to technical resources / collaborators and drive outcomes.
  • Ability to root out data quality concerns and drive resolution 
  • Ability to generate insight from complex and disparate data sources .
  • Detail oriented, strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to lead projects independently and communicate with leadership collaborators.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to all levels in the organization.
  • Confidence in requirements gathering and collaborator management at all levels.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with specialty and/or orphan/rare disease therapies.
  • Experience in advanced analytics in healthcare, research /consulting, or pharmaceutical/biotech company
  • Expertise in analytical tools such as SQL, QLIK, Tableau
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a lean, dynamic and nimble environment and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Capability to work on multiple projects and meet timelines.
  • Effective interpersonal skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility with field and home office personnel including management.

Annual base salary for this position ranges from $115,693 to $151,848. AstraZeneca is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. Our compensation policies and practices have been designed to allow colleagues to progress through the salary range over time as they progress in their role. The range provided in this posting represents an offer pay range used in a majority of situations. The base pay offered will vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business and organizational needs.  In some cases, offers outside the range may also be considered to address unique circumstances.

In addition, our permanent positions offer an annual Variable Pay Bonus/Short Term Incentive opportunity as well as eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (if applicable to role).  Benefits offered for permanent roles include a competitive Flex Benefits & Retirement Savings Program, 4 weeks’ paid vacation, and annual Personal Days. Fixed Term Contract/Temporary positions (excluding students) are offered a Contract Benefits Program.
