This senior manager level role will play a key part in supporting the Master data function of the Business Operations organization specifically around Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) compliance and data quality. They will be responsible for continuously improving Commercial data quality and data management operational capabilities. Under minimal supervision, the Senior Manager will ensure operational efficiencies and data accuracy across all REMS-related functions within the Alexion ecosystem. The individual must be confident, communicate well and be able to effectively collaborate across all commercial functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee end-to-end operations for REMS-related master data, including data stewardship, integration with Healthcare Organizations & Healthcare Professionals datasets, and continuous improvement of data quality processes.
  • Lead efforts to obtain and validate external vendor enrollment data against internal SAP and other key systems, ensuring accurate association of all the related data through comprehensive review processes.
  • Manage the consolidation of daily matches, apply data quality rules, and generate a clean master file for systems. Develop complex reports to monitor REMS data quality and ensure compliance.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for REMS master data operations and handle ad-hoc data extract requests.
  • Actively participate in master data governance initiatives, ensuring timely implementation of business partner deliverables and adherence to REMS compliance requirements.
  • Establish and track KPIs for REMS data management initiatives. Find opportunities to optimize processes and lead projects to streamline workflows across functions.
  • Ensure seamless integration of REMS data into MDM, SAP, CRM, and downstream systems.
  • Develop test scripts and conduct integration testing to verify data accuracy and compliance with GxP processes.
  • Direct vendor activities supporting data management capabilities and manage vendor REMS data feeds for uninterrupted data availability.
  • Work closely with compliance, field effectiveness, and IT teams to gather requirements, drive projects, and resolve any data processing issues.
  • Monitor MDM data processing alerts and interface health, resolving synchronization issues between systems.
  • Ensure timely completion of service requests and tasks within established guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Ability to approach tasks with a focus on processes and solve problems effectively, while understanding the associated workflows to ensure high-quality data generation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge and hands-on application of database technologies (ex: SQL, Hive, Hadoop, Python, Snowflake etc.)
  • Ability to understand key master data elements and enrich such data and make it available to the business
  • Confidence and ability to understand business needs and solve queries related to master data
  • Track record of effective collaboration across multiple functions
  • Strong analytical and organization skills, capable of managing multiple requests simultaneously
  • Desire and ability to learn/implement new tools and capabilities
  • Diligent and motivated individual, capable of working independently or collaboratively in a team setting
  • Bachelors in computer science, engineering, business, finance, or other quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. As is typical of an office-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

Preferred requirements:

  • Implementation and/or maintenance of master data management systems, strong knowledge on master data and REMS related data sets etc.
  • Experience with Veeva applications, including Network and Open Data, order management systems – SAP, and REMS data/requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Data Management/Governance, Business Analytics and/or Financial Analysis, preferably in the biotech/pharma industry
  • Prior experience in rare disease
