Senior Manager, Data Analyst
This is what you will do:
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry by supporting management decision-making, driving operational process improvements, and contributing to business strategy formulation through advanced data analysis and visualization. You will work with a wide range of data including sales, marketing, supply chain and more, proposing strategies to enhance profitability and reduce costs.
A key aspect of this position is proactively utilizing generative AI and the latest business intelligence and data infrastructure tools, going beyond traditional report and dashboard automation. You will leverage cutting-edge platforms such as Copilot for Power BI, dbt, BigQuery, and others to streamline information retrieval, improve productivity, and reduce cognitive load using AI. Additionally, you will promote a culture of data utilization and innovation through prompt design expertise, sharing internal use cases, and driving organizational knowledge management. You are expected to apply large language models (LLMs) across all phases of work—from business understanding and requirements definition to analysis, implementation, and review.
You will be responsible for:
- Conduct market research and diverse data analysis in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry
- Analyze current business processes and propose and implement improvements
- Report analysis results and strategic insights to management
- Collect, organize, and visualize pharmaceutical business and healthcare data
- Create and optimize reports and dashboards using BI tools and analytical platforms (e.g., Power BI, Copilot for Power BI, Qlik)
- Manage projects and coordinate with stakeholders, collaborating effectively within teams
- Investigate industry trends and regulatory changes and develop responsive strategies
- Define client requirements, identify challenges, and generate high-value insights
- Formulate and execute business strategies aimed at cost reduction and revenue enhancement
- Collaborate with team members in developing data-driven solutions
- Utilize generative AI (e.g., Copilot for Power BI, ChatGPT) and related AI tools to improve analysis workflows and efficiency through prompt design
- Share best practices, AI application knowledge, and success stories within BI teams and related departments
- Design, operate, and improve analysis workflows by integrating tools such as BigQuery, dbt, Lightdash, Looker Studio, Notion, Slack, etc.
- Apply LLM prompt design across each phase—from understanding requirements, defining specifications, conducting analysis and implementation, to review—to further streamline workflows
You will need to have:
- At least two years of practical experience as a business analyst or a similar role
- Basic knowledge of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry
- Data analysis skills (experience with Excel, SQL, BI tools, etc.)
- Knowledge and practical experience with BI and analytics tools (such as Power BI, Copilot for Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Interest in and knowledge of advanced technologies, including AI, generative AI (GenAI), natural language processing, AR/VR/MR, etc.
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in generative AI, Copilot for Power BI, or AI-driven BI/data tools
- Experience optimizing workflows using prompt design and large language model (LLM) applications
- Experience using data infrastructure and analytics tools such as SQL, BigQuery, dbt, etc.
- Proactive in sharing knowledge and use cases
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to clearly translate business requirements into non-technical language
- Business-level Japanese proficiency (written and spoken)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferably in information science or healthcare-related fields)
We would prefer for you to have:
- Advanced experience in data analysis or business process improvement within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Experience analyzing and improving supply chain and manufacturing processes
- Experience with market research or competitive analysis in consulting or research firms
- Experience in global project management and working with multinational teams
- Experience developing in-house AI tools or data infrastructure
- Experience with knowledge management and education activities
- Master’s degree or higher (in data science, information science, healthcare, or pharmaceutical fields)
- English proficiency (reading and writing; preferred)
